An advanced, comprehensive thermochemical equilibrium model of a downdraft biomass gasifier

A stoichiometric model is formulated for predicting the syngas yield from reduction zone of a downdraft biomass gasifier. It incorporates thermodynamic equilibrium global gasification reaction, predicts concentration minor products hydrogen sulphide and ammonia as sulphur-based nitrogen-based contaminants, respectively, implements new empirical correlation, using existing pertinent experimental data, to account mass tar yield. The governing set equations solved in fully coupled manner, with boudouard reaction employed predict char output synthesis used production. does not require use correction factors satisfactorily methane, shortcoming that has tended plague models. composition, yields, temperature, cold gas efficiency lower heating value are obtained various feedstock specific ultimate analysis, different equivalence ratios varying moisture content.
